Right, so I love to draw. It's a passion and a talent. But I'm still an amateur, and always open to suggestions and constructive criticism. I'm in awe of the pros on Deviant Art, and I really hope I can count myself among them eventually.

Right this moment, I'm cramming for a Chemistry test tomorrow afternoon. Being a natural procrastinator, and realizing that I haven't drawn anything substantial since September (shameful, I know...), I just want everyone to know that I still do love art and intend to practice it, I just hate the academic world that keeps me from it.

2009 has been a really cool year for movies. We've gone into space and seen Captain Kirk get beaten like he owed people money in Star Trek. We've seen an angry old man use balloons to abduct a short little fat kid in Disney's Up. We've seen giant blue wangs in Watchmen. We've - well, not me, but apparently a lot of you - saw the Jonas Bros. sing inoffensive, diabetically sweet pop music in the Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. We even saw Optimus Prime beat the crap out of Shia LeBeouf in Transformers 2. And yet, none of those memorable moments mean anything compared to a single minute of District 9.

I rarely update this journal simply because I don't wanna bore people with random trivialities. However, this news applies to everyone.
Michael Jackson died today.
Name one person who hasn't heard of him, who hasn't attempted (for better or worse) to moonwalk, who hasn't heard Thriller, and, regardless of whether or not they've ever seen the video, seems to know most of the steps...it's impossible.
Michael Jackson was easily one of my all-time favorite musicians, and his influence has radiated to literally EVERY black artist (and several other artists in general) that followed him. Losing him is literally like a metaphorical death of music
